Fashion designer Bourke, of Dooney & Bourke, was sentenced to 366 days in prison. Sixty-three year old Frederic Bourke, who is the co-founder and chairman, will have to go to jail for one year and one day for “taking a role in a conspiracy to bribe officials in Azerbaijan during a 1998 oil deal,” according to nymag.com. He was found guilty in July but is just now receiving his sentencing. Although he did not conjure up this bright idea, he did know about it, which violates Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Well it’s good to know rappers aren’t the only celebrities having to pay for their crimes nowadays.
