Marc Jacobs' highly anticipated show was everything everyone expected it to be. Thoughtful, romantic and classic Marc. His collection featured " trompe l'oeil bows, sequin-front/knit-back sweaters, sheer lingerie layers, sumptuous Mongolian lamb-collared shearlings, clear plastic trenches, panne velvet dresses, a Prince of Wales check three-piece suit, echoes of his Japanese idols, and vaguely seventies-ish knit dresses." Almost everything very wearable. I guarantee we'll see many of these gowns on the red carpet.

Louis Vuitton Customers Are Crazy

If you didn’t know, Louis Vuitton has been doing amazingly well in this recession, kicking its competitor’s ass. But is there a reason they are doing so well? Marc Jacobs, creative director of Louis Vuitton, believes so:

“Obviously there are a lot of people suffering out there, but our sales are up and I haven’t noticed that people’s tastes have got more subdued. They may be buying less, but if anything, they want it to be even more special. There’s this huge cult following of almost crazy people at Vuitton who just want whatever they buy to be exclusive.”

LOL, MJ is funny. But I do kind of agree. Once you get a Louis, it does become your BFF and you officially join the cult of oxidized leather and speedy’s you’ll see everyone else carrying.

Ms. Gaga To Receive Fashion Award

Okay to get this clear, I love Lady Gaga, so you may be hearing about her a lot in my posts. She’s definitely a style icon and she makes great music as well. Everything a girl like me needs. Her daring style and off the wall outfits have given her a lot of attention and now there is proof it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Ms. Gaga will be awarded the Stylemaker Award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards aka ACE Awards this Monday night. The girl does know how to accessorize, i.e. a bird’s nest on her head. The award will be given by Marc Jacobs at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. Other honorees includ Diane von Furstenberg, Tomas Maler of Bottega Veneta and Blake Mycoskle of Tom’s Shoes. Yayy for Gaga!
