Now that New York Fashion Week is over I figured I'd do a quick recap on the trends seen throughout the runway. We still have many other fashion weeks to go, like London and Paris, but we'll see what the American designers were envisioning.
To begin. FUR. It seemed as if almost every single designer had fur in the their collection in one way or another.
Oscar de la Renta
Metallics were also another big trend this season, resurfaced from a few seasons ago. Some people take metallics too far but I think these designers did them just right. Take notes :)
Alice + Olivia
There wasn't that much color on the runway as well. Many designers used monotone colors such as nude and black.
3.1 Phillip Lim
One trend I loved and can't wait to partake in (yes, I'm lame) is thigh/knee high socks. A lot of designers teamed up their collections with these socks either by themselves with open toed or closed toe shoes or underneath boots.
Alexander Wang
Lastly, there were a lot of military inspired pieces from different designers. I like the trend and the new interpretations on it.
