New York Fashion Week Recap

Now that New York Fashion Week is over I figured I'd do a quick recap on the trends seen throughout the runway. We still have many other fashion weeks to go, like London and Paris, but we'll see what the American designers were envisioning.

To begin. FUR. It seemed as if almost every single designer had fur in the their collection in one way or another.

Michael Kors
Marc Jacobs
Oscar de la Renta

Metallics were also another big trend this season, resurfaced from a few seasons ago. Some people take metallics too far but I think these designers did them just right. Take notes :)

Rachel Roy
Jason Wu
Alice + Olivia

There wasn't that much color on the runway as well. Many designers used monotone colors such as nude and black.

Victoria Beckham
Rachel Roy
3.1 Phillip Lim

One trend I loved and can't wait to partake in (yes, I'm lame) is thigh/knee high socks. A lot of designers teamed up their collections with these socks either by themselves with open toed or closed toe shoes or underneath boots.

Jill Stuart
Charlotte Ronson
Alexander Wang

Lastly, there were a lot of military inspired pieces from different designers. I like the trend and the new interpretations on it.

Oscar de la Renta's Classy Fall Collection

Oscar de la Renta constantly portrays immaculate class and elegance in his collections. This collection in particular showcased an expensive, luxurious look for a glamorous woman. I loved the bold colors and different textures used for each piece and pieces that went together. Beautiful collection.

Michael Kors Killed It!

What more can I say? When I saw this show I almost died on the inside. The chunky knits, floor length sequined jersey dresses, and fox furs that encompassed a jet setting look, put me over the edge. How does this man have time to put these amazing collections together, tape Project Runway, and just be all around fabolous. LOVE.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Wonderful Show - New York Fashion Week

After showing an amazing collection Monday night, Marc Jacobs wow'd everyone again with his Marc by Marc Jacobs collection on Tuesday. The military trend showed up once again on the catwalk and unlike his Marc Jacobs collection, COLOR! I loved these looks and can't wait for them to hit the racks. Team Marc!

Halston's Glamour At New York Fashion Week

Halston delivered very beautiful, glamorous pieces Monday during fashion week. I loved all of the dresses and pops of color seen throughout the entire collection. If only I could afford any of them lol.

Marc Jacobs Blew Fashion Week Away

Marc Jacobs' highly anticipated show was everything everyone expected it to be. Thoughtful, romantic and classic Marc. His collection featured "
trompe l'oeil bows, sequin-front/knit-back sweaters, sheer lingerie layers, sumptuous Mongolian lamb-collared shearlings, clear plastic trenches, panne velvet dresses, a Prince of Wales check three-piece suit, echoes of his Japanese idols, and vaguely seventies-ish knit dresses." Almost everything very wearable. I guarantee we'll see many of these gowns on the red carpet.
