Karl Lagerfeld Always Gives Us A Show

Chanel, and more specifically Karl Lagerfeld, showed in Paris yesterday and took us through a winter wonderland. He had some crazy, furry beasts walking through an iceberg for the collection but of course gave us classic Chanel. There were a lot of neutral, soft, pastel colors all similar to that of a winter wonderland. You can always count on Mr. Lagerfeld to entertain.

Paris Haute Couture - Chanel Spring/Summer Collection

The haute couture collections for spring/summer are still showing in Paris and Chanel just showed earlier today. The looks were very romantic and light and used a lot of whites and pale colors giving a fresh feeling.

Chanel Pre-Fall Collection

Chanel showed it’s pre-fall collection in Shanghai last week (hysterically named Paris-Shanghai Métiers d'Art Collection lol). It was Karl Lagerfeld’s first time in Shanghai and boy did he make a statement. The show opened up with a video of yellow face (first black face now yellow face) and included many likings of Asian traditional fashion, such as rice-paddy hats and Kimonos. All in all I thought the show had beautiful clothes and showcased Asian and world fashion well. To see more pictures from the runway show click here.

Chanel & Forever 21 Magazines

Both Karl Lagerfeld and Forever 21 plan on putting out fashion magazines. Oh. Lord. Chanel and Purple’s Olivier Zahm paired up to put out their magazine, 31 Rue Cambon, named after the first Chanel Boutique. I would actually read this though, I trust Karl Lagerfeld’s taste. On the other hand, launching this Friday, Forever 21 will put out its fashion, beauty, and lifestyle magazine. "Each issue will include two to three features, a fashion gallery of looks with styling tips, coverage of trends available at Forever 21, street style, makeup and beauty tutorials, a lifestyle section including the latest in books/art/music, coverage of noteworthy Forever 21 collaborations, and an interview with a notable VIP," says Nitrolicious. It will available as a gift with a purchase of $40 or more or free to view online. If the magazine looks anything like the MESS of the store hosting it, it’ll be a FAIL.

Costco Sells Louis?

A brand new Costco just opened up on East 116th Street in New York, the first one in Manhattan, and they are already showing out. Obviously, Costco carries the usual jumbo sized everything, but this Costco in particular carries designer bags, and for a discount. According to Stylelist, “the new location currently has Chanel Classic Flap handbags available for $1,999, though the salesperson, a man, was not sure what sizes were available (baby, small, medium, large or jumbo). These regularly sell anywhere from $1,795 to $2,495." Also, “they sold out of Louis Vuitton Speedy bags, regularly priced from $665 to more than $3,000, all three going for $589 a pop.” They also have Coach, Burberry's mini satchel for $1,019.99, Tod's medium shopper handbag for $549.99 and a Ferragamo "Marissa" handbag for $629.99. Costco’s kickin ass.
